Chronicle insurance correspondent bags top Pan-African Media Accolade Taurai Craig Museka

CHRONICLE guest insurance writer, Taurai Craig Museka, scooped the Dr Femi Oyetunji Future Talent Award at the recent Pan African Re/insurance Journalism Awards held in Victoria Falls.

The award granted in the spirit of nurturing journalistic talent was sponsored by Continental Reinsurance and is named after the former chief executive officer (CEO) of the Pan African Reinsurer, Dr Femi Oyetunji.

This year’s event marked the 9th edition of honouring journalistic excellence by Continental Reinsurance and the event coincided with the CEOs Summit, which was held from the 11th to the 12th of April.

The event brought together high profile individuals such as key regulators from Zimbabwe and Zambia, Dr Grace Muradzikwa and Mrs Namakau Ntini, Senator Crystal Asige, a Kenyan parliamentarian and CEOs from the (re)insurance industry in Africa.

Museka’s article, which was published in the Chronicle was recognised after exploring the role, which trade credit insurers can have in maximising the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Others journalist where honoured in various categories including English, Arabic and French, The winners in the awards were chosen among 121 entrants from across 18 African countries.
