Fox Cities House & Outdoor Living Show, live music and axe throwing among upcoming Appleton events
In the coming week, Appleton will host the House and Outdoor Living Show and the Axe and Knife Throwing Championships.


APPLETON - From the House & Outdoor Living Show running from March 28 to 30, to the Axe & Knife Throwing Championships running from April 3 to 6, Appleton is set to host a variety of events in the coming week.
Other events include a Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra spring concert, and the April 2 Rhythms & Brews show featuring Katie Dahl and Grace Morrison.
There's also a chance to learn about the entire honey-making process.
Appleton hosts annual House & Outdoor Living Show from March 28 to 30
The annual Fox Cities House & Outdoor Living Show is scheduled to run March 28 to 30 at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton. Show hours are noon to 6 p.m. March 28; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 29; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 30.
Exhibitors at the show specialize in home improvement, construction and outdoor living spaces. Some of the exhibitors will present educational seminars on a variety of home improvement related topics, from solar power to geothermal heating and cooling.

Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra presents spring concert
Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra will present its Spring Signature Series concert on March 28. It will begin at 7 p.m. and will be at Bubolz Nature Preserve, 4815 N. Lynndale Drive, Appleton.
The series highlights FVSO’s principal musicians who perform pieces they love. Ensemble members include Jennifer Bryan, oboe; Chris Zello, clarinet; Jon Hodges, cello; Susan Sullivan, bass; and Barbara Beechey, viola.
This series in sponsored by the Melinda A. Thomas Memorial Fund in honor of the talent she brought to her community and her deep love of music.

Learn all about honey during workshop at Givens Farm
Givens Farm will host a Honey-Making Workshop from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 30.
The hands-on workshop will teach attendees the process of honey making, from nectar to honeycomb. Learn about the various types of bees and their roles within the hive, and how they collect nectar and transform it into honey. Students also will get a look at honey extraction and bottling techniques, along with a honey-tasting session.

Rhythms & Brews to feature Dahl and Morrison April 2
The 2024-25 season of Rhythms & Brews is held Wednesdays at Gibson Community Music Hall, 211 W. College Ave., Appleton. The April 2 show will feature Katie Dahl and Grace Morrison, starting at 7 p.m.
Dahl is a songwriter who has five studio albums and two original musical plays, “Victory Farm” and “The Fisherman’s Daughters,” to her credit. Morrison is a pianist, accordion player and songwriter, among other talents. She has trademarked a sound she calls Saltwater Country.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for Music-Makers, and 6 p.m. for the general public. You must be 21 or older to attend. Admission is free.

Axe & Knife Throwing Championships to be held at Exhibition Center
Appleton is set to host the 2025 World Axe & Knife Throwing Championships at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center from April 3 to 6.
Competitors from across the United States, Canada, UK, Japan and New Zealand will compete for world titles in: Hatchet, Big Axe, Knife, Hatchet Duals, and Knife Duals.
The vendor market will be open throughout the competition, and includes local vendors, businesses, craftsmen and food.
Admission is free and open to the public. The Fox Cities Exhibition Center is located at 355 W. Lawrence St., Appleton.
