The beautiful paradise island dubbed 'waste of money' by tourists
This pretty destination has been called "overrated" by travellers who say it's not worth the trip there.
This one popular holiday destination has been slated by tourists who say it’s not worth the money to go there. Aruba was not a favourite for travellers sharing their experiences online.
Affording a holiday is expensive, especially if you want to go further afield. With this in mind, it’s important you’re spending your money in the right places to ensure you’re getting the best trip you can for the price. “AffordableTraveler” asked Reddit members about the “overhyped” places they'd visited and where they regret spending as much as they did, reports Daily Mail.
Those on the online community said Aruba was one of their most overhyped places due to being “expensive, far out there and windy”.
But this wasn’t the only place that came up on the list.
Other destinations included Monaco, the Maldives, Dubai, Las Vegas, Switzerland, Costa Rica and the Seychelles.
These destinations are notoriously expensive and are known for being more lavish destinations to visit.
Aruba is known for its beautiful beaches, historical architecture and unique heritage.
Those who visit often take a trip to its famous Baby Beach.

One visitor on Tripadvisor said the beach was pretty but too loud, the person wrote: “Beautiful beach. White sand turquoise water. Problem with people playing music really loud.
“If you’re looking for peaceful and quiet, this is not the place. People play their music really loud.
“Apparently they have no rules regarding volume. We moved our location and then other people came and started blasting their radio. At that point we gave up. I don’t mind music but this was crazy loud. It’s a shame because it’s a nice place.”
However, another said: “Baby beach is a must on your next visit to Aruba. The snorkeling was superb. The water was absolutely beautiful. My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!”
If you’re curious to make your own opinion of Aruba, you can fly to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport, located in Oranjestad which takes 11 and a half hours from the UK.
