This summer, London will once again play host to the globally acclaimed World Press Photo Exhibition, captivating audiences for three months at the newly launched MPB Gallery at Here East.
As one of the most respected exhibitions in the realm of photojournalism and documentary photography, this compelling showcase offers an unfiltered view of the defining moments that continue to shape our world.
Following a remarkable 2024 tour that drew over 3 million visitors across 66 cities worldwide, the exhibition remains a benchmark for visual storytelling. Since its founding in 1955, the World Press Photo Foundation has championed the power of photography to shed light on the most pressing global stories.

London Exhibition Director Woody Anderson expressed his excitement about the event’s return: “Bringing the World Press Photo Exhibition back to London for a second consecutive year is truly special. After a seven-year hiatus, last year’s successful comeback confirmed its status as an unmissable cultural event. We’re thrilled to continue cementing its place in the UK’s cultural landscape.”
The exhibition opens to the public from 23rd May to 25th August 2025, offering visitors a powerful journey through the lenses of the world’s most talented photographers. Tickets are available now.
This year’s showcase is strategically set at Here East within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, aligning with the grand opening of the V&A Storehouse on the same campus.

Mike Magan, COO of Here East, emphasized the significance of this cultural moment: “East London has firmly established itself as a vibrant creative hub, attracting world-renowned institutions and artists. With the launch of the V&A Storehouse, the cutting-edge Sadler’s Wells East dance venue, the soon-to-open BBC Music Studios, and now the return of the World Press Photo Exhibition, this area is defining the future of the creative industries—and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
The photography community has eagerly embraced the exhibition’s return. Sophie Collins, CMO of MPB, a leading supporter of the event, shared her enthusiasm: “It’s a privilege to support the World Press Photo Exhibition. Each year, this showcase provides an unparalleled perspective on global events, captured by the world’s most gifted photographers. This year, we’re particularly excited to celebrate the exhibition’s new home at the MPB Gallery, marking a significant milestone in our continued commitment to this incredible event. We look forward to seeing this year’s winners and honoring the power of visual storytelling.”

With its stunning imagery, compelling narratives, and remarkable storytelling, the World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 is set to deliver an unforgettable experience—one that highlights the profound ability of photography to inform, inspire, and connect us with the world around us.
