Police in Chikwawa have arrested two men suspected of breaking into a house and stealing property worth 4.3 million Kwacha at Kasinthula.

According to Chikwawa Police spokesperson Sergeant Dickson Matemba, the suspects have been identified as Hawesi Isaac (38) and Chifundo Pattason Moffat (30).

The duo allegedly broke into a house belonging to a local resident and made away with various items, including a laptop, a mobile phone, a tablet, food warmers, and other valuables.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim, the police conducted investigations that led to the arrest of the two suspects.

Sergeant Matemba confirmed that the suspects will soon appear in court to answer charges related to house breaking and theft.

The arrest has brought a sense of relief to the Kasinthula community as residents had expressed concerns over rising theft incidents in the area.
