Jadrolinija has introduced two brand-new catamarans to its fleet, enhancing fast ferry connections on key routes along the Croatian coast.

The catamaran Ružica began operating last week, serving the fast ferry line between Mali Lošinj, Ilovik, Susak, Unije, Martinšćica, Cres, and Rijeka.

A day later, Cvijeta took over the Rijeka – Rab – Novalja route.

Built in Singapore in 2023, these state-of-the-art catamarans are 38 metres long, 10 metres wide, and can accommodate up to 312 passengers.

Their excellent maritime capabilities ensure a reliable and smooth sailing experience. Passengers can also enjoy a comfortable and modern interior, designed for a pleasant journey.

Adding to their sleek look, the vessels feature a distinctive visual identity. The stern showcases a wave painted in the colours of the Croatian flag, giving them a stylish and recognisable appearance.

A Tribute to Croatian Heritage

Following the tradition of naming catamarans after significant women in Croatian history, Cvijeta and Ružica carry deep symbolic meaning.

Cvijeta is named after Cvijeta Zuzorić, a famous 16th-century Dubrovnik poet whose literary work has inspired generations.

Meanwhile, Ružica honours Ružica Markobašić, a pregnant woman tragically executed at Ovčara in 1991. Her name serves as a tribute to all expectant mothers and unborn children lost during the Homeland War.
