MILFORD, CONN., UNITED STATES, January 17, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ -- MILFORD, CT. – Shannon’s Fine Art Auctioneers announces their first Online Fine Art Auction of the year, to be held online on Thursday, January 24th at 2:00PM. The sale includes over 180 lots of quality fine art available at approachable prices for collectors at every level. The Online Catalog will be available for bidding on January 14th.
Notable highlights include a lithograph by Pablo Picasso entitled “Jaqueline.” The abstract composition is an eye-catching print on pink Japon paper. Other modern and contemporary prints by Marc Chagall, Raoul Dufy, Robert Rauschenberg, Krishna Redy and others will also be offered.
Modern and contemporary paintings in the sale include a Fancisco Icaza oil painting titled “Caja de Joyas,” a painting of New York City by Anne W. Goldthwaite and a portrait by Joseph Solman among many others.
Large-scale paintings by French artists Dietz Edzard, Suzanne Eisendieck, Francois Gall and Andre Vignoles are stand-out lots in ready-to-hang condition. Other French paintings in the sale include works by Paul-Emile Pissarro, Andre Hambourg, Annie Puybareau and Andre Gisson.
The sale also features traditional landscape painting from the 19th century. A highlight from this category is a River Landscape with Mountain View by Hudson River Artist George H. Smillie. Also in this category are paintings by Robert Nisbet, Edward Gay and Ambrose Andrews.
Contemporary Works from the Estates of Gerald Johnson, a noted follower of Bolotowsky and Fred Otnes, a Connecticut collage artist will be offered. Both of the artists had successful careers and were widely exhibited in their regions.
There is something for everyone in this auction with most works priced below $5,000 and little to no reserves.
Previews will be held on weekdays, starting Tuesday, January 15th, and continuing through Wednesday, January 23rd (closed weekends). Preview hours are 11AM-5PM, eastern time. The auction will start promptly at 2:00PM EST via Invaluable.com on Thursday, January 24th. A link to the sale will be available on the Shannon’s homepage.
